Objective:
To inform students of the different families of instruments.
Resources:
Poster board, art utensils, Internet, books.
Teacher Preparation:
To put the webliography on the overhead, assign students to their groups, and families of instruments.
Procedure:
Lesson One: To have them go into the computer lab and search on a couple of these web sites: http://datadragon.com/education/instruments/, and http://www.lehigh.edu/zoellner/encyclopedia.html, from the family that was picked for them.
Lesson Two: Get into groups and start their posters.
Lesson Three: Present the definitions and their poster to class, while the class in taking notes on the other families of instruments.
Variations/Options:
To pick their groups, and have the students identify an instrument for their certain group.
