We get a lot of tchotchkes and there are enough candies, cookies, and popcorn in the Teachers’ Lounge to feed a small country. But we do like to know that you and your kids like us, and appreciate what we do. So here are some gift ideas that we can all agree on.
A simple dough that dries to create aromatic hanging ornaments. Please note that these items are not intended to be eaten, even though they smell good enough!
As tulips bloom and the trees are finally a little greener, thoughts of planting seeds suddenly “Spring” to mind. Before you even touch a packet of seeds though, check out this clearly clever idea for keeping track of what those roots actually DO.
For something different, try making Christmas ornaments out of recycled materials. Brainstorm with your art teacher how that might be accomplished in an aesthetically pleasing way, or tackle it on your own with bits of plastic, paper, aluminum foil, string, wire, etc.
There are a variety of uses for “homemade” paper. Use a paper recycling project as a way to promote awareness for recycling and landfill use.
