A different approach to introduce your elementary students to multiplication is to combine it with art. Have them draw and cut out at least a dozen small images, about 3 cm. square. Then help them arrange and rearrange them on their desk to represent multiplication facts. For example, regroup 12 objects to represent 1×12, 3×4, and 2×6. When done, let them glue their art objects to a sheet of construction paper to make a picture.
